Do I need an adapter to fit this on my factory shift rod?
Most manual shift rods are M10 or M12 threaded. This knob uses a standard threaded insert — measure your factory rod diameter and thread pitch before ordering to confirm fitment.
Will the red finish scratch or chip easily?
The finish is baked-on during casting. Normal use won't chip it, but aggressive contact with hard objects will leave marks. Touch-ups are not recommended — the finish is integral to the cast body.
Is this knob heavy enough to improve shift feel on a cable-shift transmission?
Weighted knobs work best on mechanical linkage transmissions where shift force is direct. Cable-shift systems dampen the effect significantly. Test-fit at a car meet if possible before committing.
